Writer Jennifer De Leon will read from her short story “Home Movie,” Boston’s 2015 One City, One Story pick, and will discuss the ways in which “the story” can provide crucial insight into the complex intersection of race, class, and education. Named the 2015-2016 Writer-in-Residence by the Associates of the Boston Public Library, De Leon currently teaches creative writing at Emerson, Berklee, and GrubStreet. The editor of the anthology, Wise Latinas: Writers on Higher Education, De Leon is working on a novel and an essay collection.
One Bentley, One Story, modeled on the Boston Book Festival’s One City, One Story, program, aims to make one short story available to the entire Bentley community to remind us of the individual and communal joys of reading. You can read De Leon's short story here: HOME MOVIE-De Leon.pdf
