Haughton's major areas of interest are applied statistics, statistics and marketing, the analysis of living standards surveys, data mining, and model selection. More than 60 refereed articles have appeared in journals such as the American Statistician, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Economic Development and Cultural Change, and Studies in Family Planning, among others. She has written one book and two edited collections. Haughton is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and a graduate coordinator for Business Analytics at Bentley University.
