Undergraduate Internship Program
The Finance Honors Internship Program offers eligible Finance majors the rare opportunity to apply classroom learning to address realistic financial issues in an organization. They also offer students the possibility to enhance employment opportunities after graduation. Students are encouraged to pursue an internship, for credit, when it adds to the quality of their learning experience.
As an intern, you must:
Attend meetings with the Office of Career Services and the internship coordinator for the Finance Department
Obtain course approval from the coordinators
Keep daily logs of activities performed
Complete written assignments
Complete post-internship evaluations
Eligibility
Internships are open to superior full-time students, selected by the Finance faculty, who have completed their junior year. You must have an overall GPA of 2.7, and have completed nine credit hours of Finance courses before the beginning of the internship period.
Grading
The FI 421 Finance Internship is a three-credit course that fulfills the requirements of a Finance-related elective, thus requiring the payment of tuition. Most internship positions are paid positions. You are required to work for a minimum of 20 hours per week, for a minimum of 12 weeks. Grading is based on five elements:
Supervisor’s evaluation: 40%
Activity log: 10%
Internship journal: 25%
Internship project: 20%
Attendance: 5%

Graduate Internship Program
Full-time MS in Corporate Finance (MSCF) and MS in Global Financial Analysis (MSGFA) candidates who enter the program with no professional-level work experience in the field of finance may be able to complete an internship to acquire practical experience. It provides opportunities for students to:
Assess personal strengths and weaknesses in light of the demands they are apt to encounter in their prospective field
Gain a base of experience to realistically plan the start of their careers
Demonstrate their professional potential to prospective employers
As an intern, you should expect to be involved directly in securing your internship. The Graduate School, the Center for Career Services and the department internship coordinator can assist you in contacting potential internship sponsors. You also are encouraged to demonstrate your own initiative in finding internship opportunities.
Eligibility
The internship is available only to full-time MSCF and MSGFA candidates who enter the program with no professional-level work experience in finance. To be eligible, you should be well into your graduate program, have taken at least four Finance courses at the 600-level or higher, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.
